Price alerts

When you sign up on a barn page we store your email address, the barn, the sign-up status (pending, confirmed or unsubscribed), a random code used in your confirm and unsubscribe links, and the dates you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed. We also keep a log of which alerts were sent to you, so nobody gets the same report twice.

Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. After that you get one email per sale at that barn, when its new USDA report comes in. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days.

To limit abuse, we count sign-up attempts per email address and per network address for 2 days. Network addresses are stored only as a one-way scrambled code (a salted hash), never as the address itself.

The data is kept in a Cloudflare D1 database. Emails are delivered through our email delivery provider (Cloudflare Email Sending or Resend), which handles your address only to deliver the message. We never sell, rent or share the list, and we don't use it for anything else.

Unsubscribing and deleting your data

Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any alert; it works in one click and stops that barn's alerts right away. To have your address removed completely, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

The rest of the site

The site has no analytics scripts and no advertising cookies. Price alert emails never contain ads.

Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and protect the site. The calf value calculator's "Use my location" stays in your browser; your location is never sent to us.

The price box that barns put on their own websites makes no requests to anyone but us and sets no cookies.
